Beauté Minéral pledges that if and when labeling an ingredient as "natural", the ingredient will fit the Natural Ingredient Resource Center (NIRC) Criteria for natural ingredients. We also pledge that if and when labeling products using the term "natural", the products will be labeled according to the Natural Ingredient Resource Center Guidelines for labeling natural products. When we say "natural", we do mean "natural"...
We love animals, and we do not want any animal suffer in the name of "beauty". At Beauté Minéral, we NEVER test our products on any kind of animals, and that's the principle that we stand by. Furthermore we do not use any suppliers who test their products or materials on animals*.
Most of our products are vegan -- made without ingredients derived from animals. We do use carmine, honey and/or beeswax in a few products (e.g. a few Alluring Eyes Eye Colors and Beauté Balm Moisturizer). For that, we are thankful to those animals (and insects).
And we are going to total guilt-free brushes! Yes, we are switching to synthetic bristle brushes, because we really want to make sure no animal was being hurt for our brushes, and the only way to be sure is not to use any animal hair AT ALL! From now on, we will save the animal fur/hair for petting only.
On February 2, 2010, Beauté Minéral was approved by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) and became a certified "cruelty-free" company by joining the Leaping Bunny Program.
